Plaster cast bas relief tablet showing a section of frieze from the Parthenon complex, originally cast by the great Domenico Brucciani, whose plaster casts created in the nineteenth century are displayed in both the British Museum and the V & A.

Cast from a highly rare antique plaster cast - the original piece is held in the collection of the British Museum, the antique catalogue numbering faintly in evidence to the top left hand corner.

Dimensions (cm): Height 26.5, Width 21, Depth 2 (edge) / 3 (base/top).

To the rear, hand-initialled and stamped with the Alexander Griffin maker's mark and fitted with a brass 'D ring' for wall hanging from a single screw / nail / hook.
