Bas relief plaster cast of a rare plaque depicting an ancient
mythological scene with the sea God Triton, son of Poseidon
and Amphritrite, in combat with a winged sphinx.

Fantastic large scale, with excellent patina and fine detail.

Dimensions (cm): Height 26.5, Width 53.5, Depth 3 / 5.

To the rear, hand-initialled and stamped with the Alexander Griffin maker's mark, and fitted with a brass 'D-ring' for wall hanging over a single screw / nail / hook.
